Thomas Wells is an artist originally from Manchester. They explore parallels between cities, and their connections to other post-industrial sites, in particular how Queer people have assimilated, hidden and thrived in these environments of gender binary ‘role play’. This is explored through a variety of ways; devised performances integrate video, audio and archive through movement, gesture and conversation developing a personal narrative rooted in context of time and place. Now based in Belfast they graduated from The Glasgow School of Art (2009) and hold an MA in Education from King’s College London (2014). As well as Catalyst, Thomas is a member of the Array Collective and a contributor to public art organisation Household.
